SMOKED WHOLE CHICKEN RECIPE

This smoked chicken recipe is everything you’d ever need in a chicken dish. Smoked chicken recipes like this one make other whole chicken recipes seem dry and tasteless. The important thing here is to be generous with the seasoning, and then be patient while the smoker does its work!

Smoking meat is one of the most unique and rewarding styles of cooking, and the most versatile meat to use is chicken without a doubt. You can smoke most of a chicken’s individual parts like smoked chicken wings (i.e., smoked wings), smoked chicken drumsticks, smoked chicken legs, and much more. And when you use Traeger’s grills, smoked chicken becomes even more delicious. In fact, you have Traeger Chicken Wings, Traeger whole chicken, and Trager beer can chicken!

If you’ve never smoked whole chicken before, you might be a little nervous to start with. Don’t be! It’s quite simple! Probably the best thing about smoked whole chicken is how many different types of flavors you can add to it! The options are almost limitless. Some of the best flavors for smoked chicken are:

  • Lime and mint mojito-style
  • Hot sauce
  • Rich butter-based sauce
  • Cajun flavors
  • Teriyaki and ginger
  • Coconut milk (goes great with a curry-based rub!)
