Want to know how? Keep scrolling.

Have you ever tried Mexican Hot Chocolate? Probably a YES.

But if you think the Indian Hot Chocolate will be the same then let me tell you it's even better than the Mexican one. Although they both are quite similar, you can figure the difference in the taste.

The start of this cocoa-based drink was from Olmecs who roamed the Americas, followed by the Mayans, but now hot chocolate has taken several forms and each one of them has an amazing aroma that lasts long.

Well, what we are talking about is almost a unique twist to this homemade Indian Hot Chocolate where we gonna make it a bit spicy. Sounds Amazing, Right?

Let’s dive right in.

Ingredients For Spicy Hot Chocolate:

Although we have several ways to make our hot chocolate spicy, still, we will use the one voted as the most crowd-pleasing spicy hot chocolate drink.

  • So, we will start with fresh high content cream milk or 16 ounces of soy milk, choose as per your taste. You can also stick to regular milk if you like.
  • For an aromatic flavor, take two crushed green cardamom pods and one whole cinnamon stick
  • We are making it spicy so we will take three whole cloves
  • For Chocolate, the base takes two tablespoons of unsweetened pure cocoa powder
  • If you want to give it a sweet taste then take 2 tablespoons of sugar

Prerequisites Before You Make A Homemade Hot Chocolate

Here, we'll render some recommended steps you can head toward, to make your best homemade Hot Chocolate:

  • In the market, much fake or chocolate with impurities is available. But try to use refined and real chocolate if you can. If using powdered chocolate, then also try to get it crushed from real chocolate only. As it's the basic tip to get the best flavor.
  • Aim for consistency in ingredients you are using and reckon its thickness.
  • Use good quality milk with as much less preservative as possible
  • Decide the ratio of chocolate and continue with the same
  • Add toppings or mix-ins like liquor (take ideas given above)

Must-Try Hot Chocolate Toppings Idea:

It depends on how creative you are when it comes to making your hot chocolate taste a little extraordinary or giving toppings on your hot chocolate.

The typical way we take a cup of hot chocolate is by throwing tiny marshmallows, spreading milkmaid condensed milk over it or a scoop of vanilla ice cream could be a better option.

But they are the only way to have a complacent hot chocolate.

Feel free to top your blissful hot chocolate with a wafer (or any of your favorite candy bars), choco chips, sprinkles, or squeezing plentiful white chocolate can be an alternative that your inner-chef can do.

Is Spicy Hot Chocolate Bad for my health?

No. In fact, it's even better than several other health drinks. You can have this every day in the morning to have a kick start, preferably without adding sugar. Also, for a healthy alternative, you’ll have to do away with toppings like your regular vanilla ice cream or wafers.
