INDIAN CASHEW CHICKEN KORMA

Indian Cashew Chicken Korma is one of the most loved Indian curries. Korma translates to braise and can encompass varieties of this dish. The chicken korma is a mixture of sweet and spicy flavors. The blend starts with cooking chicken in yogurt and spices, adding fried chicken to the mix, and stewing in a creamy sauce consisting of cashews.

With roots planted deep within the aristocracy, Mughlai cuisine is fragrant with luxurious ingredients and exotic spices for flavor. A savory dish, Korma originated in the royal kitchen of Mughal emperors. Dating back to eras of invasion and later periods ruled by the Mughals, North Indian food has evolved into this style too - going from very spicy down to relatively mild curries with rice preparation or bread making involved.

Cashews are to be soaked in warm water for 20-30 minutes before blending until they form a creamy paste. Blended cashew nut paste is commonly found in Indian cuisine but most notably when wanting to achieve that rich and smooth consistency while also contributing a creaminess to the dish. This blended mixture creates an excellent sauce thickener while adding depth of flavor. Alternatively, blanched almonds may substitute for cashews.

Summing Up On Chicken Korma Recipe

Kurma is the south Indian variation of Korma. Kurmas are typically curries with a thicker sauce than their north Indian counterparts, most often including the addition of coconut and cashews. The traditional ingredients for making Korma are yogurt, a mix of spices such as cumin and coriander, coconut milk, tomatoes, etc. The preparation starts with marinating before finally being cooked in low heat to allow the meat or vegetable time to cook all the way through.

Korma is originally an Indian dish that was first famous by Mughal emperors who added their personal touch to it because they wanted something new to serve at their royal courts. What makes it so different from other dishes? It has many layers of flavors, from butter or ghee seared onto all meats or vegetables before adding them back into a pot of melted-yogurt sauce and slow-cooking everything together for even more depth.
