Hard v/s Soft Tacos – there has always been this running debate over one of America's favorite foods. Some like crunchy hard shells while others like soft doughy shells – Why, at Taco Bell, they even make tacos with a hard shell wrapped in a soft one. Now, this definitely sounds like the best of both worlds!

We love most shredded beef tacos (or even steak tacos) no matter how you make them, which is why we built the best soft beef taco recipe that's more like the Mexican, soft-shelled classic than the more modern hard shells.

Though taco seasoning packets are easy to buy and make, our homemade taco seasoning blend is also easy to make and preservative-free. Use it to simply spice up some fried ground barbacoa beef, toss on some flour tortillas, and have delicious tacos on the table in under 25 minutes flat! It doesn't get much better than that!

Why You Must Make these beef tacos

  1. These soft-shell tacos are slightly more difficult than blindly dumping a taco seasoning packet into some ground beef. And even after that, it all still comes together in minutes!
  2. There are no preservatives used for this birria recipe, just normal seasonings.
  3. You can customize taco meat to your liking, adding more spices and your favorite tortillas and toppings.
