EASY CHILD FISH CAKES

Soft, juicy, and mouthwateringly delicious, fish cakes are suitable for the whole family and can be served for lunch, dinner, or even as snacks in between! And because the recipe is so versatile, you can use almost any vegetable combination with these cakes as you wish!

Fish cakes are an excellent way to include fish in your child’s diet. Generally speaking, fish recipes for kids should ideally involve some type of breading! Again, kids also need to be able to pick up the fish and hold it easily.

You can make fish cakes from many kinds of fish. For instance, you can make Korean fish cake, or if you have tuna, then you can go for tuna patties or tuna cakes. Then you have the salmon croquette, or you can have easy salmon patties if you have salmon fish at hand. Why you can even air fry salmons for delicious air fryer salmon patties! And if you’re buying canned/readymade patties, then you have the option of making salmon cakes with canned salmon fish patties.

Most picky and choosy eaters will tell you that they don’t touch fish! This is primarily because fish is usually perceived as having a difficult texture and being slimy to hold too. It’s usually very soft. Also, many a time, fishes have a strong flavor. For picky eaters, the fishing cake can send them running for cover!

As you’ll find in the fish cakes recipe below, the fish is pulverized before it is cooked which gives these fish cakes an even and consistent texture that is more of a picky eater’s speed. Breadcrumbs are also added in, which gives it a popular flavor and taste.

The reason this dish is called “fish cakes” is because they have mild, but highly palatable flavors for picky and choosy eaters like kids, for example. Additionally, fish cakes also have the necessary element of bread by way of breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs get mixed in which allows them to look like patties with a fairly similar consistency to burger patties when served. And that’s a texture a lot of kids are used to. It’s also a texture a lot of picky eaters gravitate towards.
